Margot Rawlinson is a Southern California native. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1998 to 2001, majoring in Psychology. She postponed finishing her degree in order to spend a year teaching English abroad for the Berlitz Language School. Margot lived in Frankfurt, Germany for this year, where she was able to hone her second language, German.
Upon her return to the United States, she changed her focus of study to Liberal Arts and completed her degree with a minor in Multicultural Education at California State University, Dominguez Hills. She graduated with honors in 2005.
During her schooling, Margot held various jobs. Some of these include working as a House Parent at Devereaux, a home for developmentally disabled girls in Santa Barbara, Assistant Preschool Teacher and Day Care Director at the Montessori School of Rancho Palos Verdes, and Office Assistant to a Speech and Language Pathologist in Torrance. She found herself passionately devoted to helping others, and especially likes working with children. Other positions she enjoyed involved working with animals and plants.
Margot became interested in health and wellness during her days at UCSB where she would often cook healthy meals for her friends and neighbors. She began a regular exercise routine and started to read and learn more about healthy living. In 2011 she completed a Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition with Highest Honors through Clayton College of Natural Health.
Margot first learned about energy healing when she was introduced to the Emotional Freedom Technique in 2003. She has been to various seminars and workshops to further her knowledge in this field, and studied EFT through DVD’s from Gary Craig’s website. She also became interested in and did research on light healing, deliberate creation and Reiki healing.
Margot was certified as an Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki I Practitioner in 2008. It was taught to her by a good friend of the family who urged her to use it on her father who was steadily nearing the end of his life. She was able to do this and feels that it was very helpful to him during this time of transition. Thereafter, she became very intrigued with the concept of Reiki healing. Margot then received the Reiki II attunement from her friend, Corrine, in November 2008 so that she may begin using the Reiki symbols in order to do distance healings. She received the Reiki Master attunement in 2010, enabling her to pass attunements to others. She enjoys sharing her ability with anyone who is open to it (even animals) and has seen amazing results in the time she has been using it. Margot has also been trained in the Yuen Method of healing, another energy modality which can correct all types of issues, sometimes instantly.
Margot relocated to beautiful Eugene, Oregon in 2011 where she has been active in community building, women’s empowerment, sustainable living, care-giving, and healing. She feels passionately that women should have options regarding how they birth their children and would like to help home birthing regain prominence in modern society. With her background in nutrition, energy healing and child care, she is well-suited to take on the challenges of supporting women throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery as a birth doula.
Margot is an active member of the Doulas of Lane County. She has been on the volunteer planning committee of the Bellies, Birth and Babies Expo since 2013 and also volunteered for WellMama, a non-profit in Eugene for supporting mothers with postpartum mood disorders, between 2014 and 2016.
In 2014 Margot began learning Shamballa Multidimensional Healing. Shamballa Reiki is actually learning to live as one’s higher self, taught as a healing modality. It uses the frequency of the I AM presence, Unconditional Love and co-creates healing with the Ascended Masters. This practice has taken Margot’s healing work to the next level, allowing her to help others in deeper and more profound ways. Learn more about Shamballa Reiki here. Margot feels honored to walk alongside people on their paths to self-mastery.
Some other things Margot enjoys include brewing a type of jun which she calls Ambrosia, creating and maintaining dreadlocks on other people and watching YouTube videos about spirituality and awakening.
